Joe Kaveski
Director and Chief Executive Officer
May 2008 to present. Prior to joining Energy Focus, Inc., Mr. Kaveski led his own strategic engineering consulting business, TGL Company. As a consultant he worked with equity investors and publicly traded companies on strategic initiatives and planning. Other corporations Mr. Kaveski has worked for include Johnson Controls, Inc where he was VP of Energy Management Solutions and Strategic Programs. Joe holds a BS in electrical engineering for the University Of Missouri Columbia / Kansas City.
John M. Davenport
President
May 2008 to present. Prior positions at Energy Focus Inc were Chief Executive Officer -July 2005 to May 2008. Chief Operating Officer - July 2003 to July 2005. Vice President and Chief Technology Officer - November 1999 to July 2003. Prior to joining Energy Focus, Mr. Davenport served as the president of Unison Fiber Optic Lighting Systems, LLC from 1998 to 1999. Before that, Mr. Davenport served at GE Lighting in various capacities for 25 years.
Eric Hilliard
Chief Operating Officer
November 2006 to present. He is an operations and management professional with more than 15 years of experience in manufacturing operations. Prior to his position as COO he worked for the Saint Gobain Company. Prior positions include 7 years with the Goodrich Corporation in operations and with the HJ Heinz Company prior to that. Moreover, Eric is a veteran of the United States Navy as an Operations Specialist on deployments around the world including the Middle East. Eric received his Bachelors Degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and his MBA from Case Western Reserve University in Ohio.
Nick Berchtold
Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance
July 31, 2007, to present. Prior to joining Energy Focus, Mr. Berchtold was the division controller at Wellman Products Group, a division of Hawk Corporation, from 2000 to 2007, where he was responsible for global financial reporting and analysis. Additionally, he served as the corporate assistant controller at Olympic Steel, Inc. from 1997 to 2000.
Roger Buelow
Chief Technology Officer, General Manager, and Vice President
July 2005 to present. Vice President Engineering from February 2003 to July 2005. Prior to joining Energy Focus, Mr. Buelow was the director of engineering at Unison Fiber Optic Lighting Systems, LLC from 1998 to 1999.
Gerrit Reinders
V.P. of Sales
January 2009 to present. Prior to joining Energy Focus Inc. Gerrit was Director of Global Energy & Sustainability Programs at Johnson Controls. Today JCI is the global leader in Performance Contracting, which is a business that Gerrit pioneered.
Other positions held include V.P. of Strategic Development for Invensys, a British conglomerate. He has served as an officer on the board of directors of the “National Association of Energy Services Companies” and on the board directors of the “Energy Services Coalition”. He has been a frequent speaker about organizational approaches to achieving sustainability by optimizing real estate. Gerrit has a BS in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA degree.
